Trostel Extends Engineering and Testing Services Offer to Entire Rubber Products Industry

Posted on: July 17th, 2014

Vast polymer expertise covers product design, manufacturing setup and failure analysis

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (July 17, 2014) — Thanks to a new multimillion-dollar renovation of its technical support, R&D and prototyping facility, custom rubber molder and compounder Trostel Ltd. is extending its Rubber Consulting Services offer to both current customers and companies looking for these services only.

Leveraging decades of proven success with a wide variety of polymer materials, Trostel’s Rubber Consulting Services offer provides rubber molders or end-users with product design, manufacturing setup and rubber product failure analysis services. By partnering with an experienced supplier like Trostel early on in the product development process, customers can simplify the supply chain, improve product performance and reduce overall costs.

“When a customer comes to us with a need, we don’t just take the specs and go. We sit down with them and get to the heart of the challenge,” said Greg Vassmer, Chief Technology Officer. “Now, we’ll be applying that expertise to improve product design, set up manufacturing processes and troubleshoot failures for the entire rubber products industry.”

The complete Rubber Consulting Services offer is made up of three components:

  • Product Development – A comprehensive product development service, ranging from design to drawings, to prototyping and qualification testing. A complete design and test information is delivered to the customer upon completion for production-scale manufacturing.
  • Manufacturing Preparation – A complete tool design, qualification and setup process. A molding press and secondary operations are specified, built and qualified to meet customers’ production and quality requirements.
  • Material Testing & Engineering – A robust material testing and certification, material selection and reverse engineering service. Failure and root cause analyses are conducted using state-of-the-art equipment, including fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimeter and thermogravimetric analysis, among others.
